SKIN TREATMENTS As a board-certified dermatologist I am highly trained in treating diseases of the skin, hair, and nails of all age groups. One of my goals is to help get your skin healthy and teach you how to keep it healthy. I'd like to highlight some of the conditions I specialize in treating, but remember-if you have a skin, hair, or nail condition not mentioned below I very likely will be able to help you with your problem as well. Rosacea (Also called "adult acne"): Many effective treatments are now available for this condition. After determining which form(s) of rosacea you have, a personalized treatment plan can be created to meet your needs. I can use a specialized laser to treat the red (or vascular) component of rosacea. By carefully looking at your skin, I can tell you if you have spots that look like skin cancer. Fortunately, skin cancer is usually easily treated. Pre-Cancerous Skin Lesions: By identifying and treating these, your risk of developing skin cancer can be reduced. Moles: By examining your moles I can help identify which moles may pose a risk to your health. In addition, moles that bother you can be easily removed. Acne: Many effective treatments are available for this condition. By creating a personalized treatment plan, I can help you get your acne under control. Psoriasis: Advanced treatment including use of different topical creams, medicines taken by mouth, newer injectable medicines and ultraviolet light treatments are available for treatment of this condition. Eczema (or Dermatitis): This is a very common, but also very irritating and bothersome condition for patients. Fortunately, this responds to personalized medical care. Testing for skin allergies can be performed if there is concern for an allergic reaction. Rashes: Various forms of rashes affecting the skin can be identified and treated. Part of the treatment of course, is explaining to the patient what the condition is, what causes it, and what can be done both to prevent it and treat it. Warts and Molluscum Contagiosum: These viral infections can be treated by a variety of different methods. Birthmarks: My training allows me to identify what birthmarks are made of and recommend treatment.
